Tips On Booking A Flight
Booking flight only has become popular because some people like to book their accommodation separately or own a holiday apartment abroad. This has led rise to fierce competition within the flight industry to cater for this need. Bare this in mind when looking for flight only. Shop around and do not accept the first offer you see. Also be wary of flights which seem too cheap. You may often be lured to a site advertising a cheap flight for £ 20 or £ 30. Very often some companies sell a limited number of seats at a low price to generate interest. Usually when you get to the site, the seats for that price have gone and they will try to sell you a flight at the normal price. Another way of advertising cheap flight prices, is to advertise excluding airport and general taxes. You will find that once airport tax and VAT are added, the flight price will increase, sometimes significantly. All of that said, there are genuine bargains out there, its just a case of conducting a thorough search.
When booking flights always use a reputable company.

Some airlines give you the choice of lowering the price by opting to not have a meal onboard or reduce your baggage allowance from 20 kilos to 15 kilos. The companies do not always make these choices obvious from the start, so check for these options as you go through the booking process. You can go through the booking process without committing to a purchase to check if these options exist.

Budget Airlines
A lot of budget airlines have sprung up, and often fly from regional airports. These companies do offer cheap flights, be aware you will be sacrificing comfort for flying on the cheap. A lot of these companies do not even offer in-flight entertainment, so make sure you have something to read if you fly with one of these companies.

Airports in Tenerife
There are two airports which have international status. One is located in the north of island in a town called La Laguna and is called Los Rodeos Airport. The second airport is located in the south of the island near to a town called El Medano and is called Sofia Reina Airport. Both Tenerife airports have all the facilities you would expect from an International airport. When booking your flight if booking flight only, make sure you select the right airport relative to where you are staying. If you get it wrong, you could pay more than 90 Euros in a taxi to get to your destination, if you do not fancy a two hour bus journey (and who would after sitting on a plane for four hours?).

Summary
All in all, you get what you pay for. There are great number of flight options to choose from when looking for flights to to the island. When you consider that you will travel approximately 2000 miles to get here, the price you pay is quite reasonable. Consider this; a 2000 mile flight that costs £200, only costs 10p per mile.
